Note: This article refers to addon or freeware scenery that you have installed. For missing premium deluxe scenery or aircraft, read this guide instead.
If you've just installed a scenery addon for Microsoft Flight Simulator to your community folder and it doesn't appear in-game, follow the steps below:
ENSURE THE INSTALLATION PATH IS CORRECT
Before clearing your scenery indexes, you should ensure the path you've installed the scenery to is correct. You can check this by following our guide here.
CLEAR THE SCENERY INDEXES
If you've checked the installation path is correct, you should clear the simulators scenery indexes. To do this, delete all the files ending in ".DAT" in the following location depending on your installation method:
Microsoft Store/Xbox App:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes
Steam:
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\SceneryIndexes
